- You need 1 kg of chicken cut into pieces.
- You need 4 tbsp of oil.
- You need 2 cups of sliced onions.
- Prepare 3 tbsp of ginger garlic paste.
- You need 5-6 of green chillies paste.
- It's 1/2 tsp of haldi powder.
- You need 1 tbsp of jeera powder.
- You need 1 tbsp of dhania powder.
- It's 1 tbsp of red chilli powder.
- Prepare 2 tbsp of biryani masala.
- You need 3 of tomatoes cut in semicircles.
- It's 1/2 cup of chopped coriander leaves.
- It's 1/2 cup of chopped mint leaves.
- You need 1/2 cup of curd.
- You need 1 tbsp of lemon juice.
- You need 2 tbsp of coconut milk.
- Prepare 2 cup of fried onions.
- It's 1 handful of fried cashewnuts and raisins.

- Prepare 750 gms of basmati rice.

Malbar Chicken Biryani instructions
- Wash the chicken and drain. Heat oil in vessel add sliced onions fry till translucent add ginger garlic paste, green chilli paste. Saute till raw smell goes..
- Add the chicken pieces,saute for a min add haldi powder, dhania powder, jeera powder, red chilli powder, biryani masala and saute for some time then add the tomatoes and salt cook till tomatoes are mashed and mixed with the masala.
- Add curds cook till it leaves the sides, add lemon juice, some coriander and mint leaves cook till the chicken is tender then add the coconut milk mix and off the flame.
- Rice :- Soak the rice for half an hour. Heat oil in a vessel add dalchini,laung, cardamoms, staranise, fennel seeds saute for a min add rice stir it then add water 1 inch above the rice, add salt and cover and cook till rice is done. Fluff up the rice with a fork.
- Assembling:- Grease a heavy bottom pan add the chicken masala then add some fried onions, chopped coriander and mint leaves, cashewnuts & raisins. Then add the cooked rice on top of the chicken masala.
- Sprinkle saffron colour, fried onions, chopped coriander and mint leaves and cashewnuts. Cover it with a lid and keep it on a tawa for dum on medium flame for 15 to 20 mins or till steam comes out. While serving garnish with fried onions.
